Article Retraction
Retraction Policy
Published articles in International Journal of Engineering and Automation (IJEA) should remain extant and intact as part of the scholarly record. However, under exceptional circumstances involving plagiarism, data fabrication, image manipulation, redundant publication, or involuntary critical data errors, articles may need to be retracted, removed, or replaced in order to protect the integrity of the scientific literature.
The need for a retraction will be determined by the Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the editorial board and, where appropriate, the publisher. A retraction may also be initiated at the request of the author(s) in cases of flawed data, erroneous conclusions, or honest scientific error.
Retraction Procedure
To retract an article, a formal Notice of Retraction will be published and will include the following:
-
The title and authors of the retracted article.
-
A clear and specific reason for the retraction (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication, critical error, etc.).
-
A statement indicating who is retracting the article (e.g., the Editor-in-Chief, the authors, or the publisher).
-
The date of retraction and a citation for the retraction notice.
The Notice of Retraction will be:
-
Published online in the current issue of the journal.
-
Clearly linked to the original article in all online versions (e.g., with a watermark or “RETRACTED” notice on the HTML and PDF versions).
-
Indexed and accessible in perpetuity to maintain transparency in the scholarly record.
In cases where an article is found to violate ethical or professional standards but does not warrant full retraction, the journal may issue a Correction, Expression of Concern, or Editorial Notice as appropriate, following COPE guidelines.
