Editorial and Peer Review Policy
Editorial Policy & Peer Review Process
International Journal of Engineering and Automation (IJEA) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and scholarly rigor. Our editorial policy is primarily based on the “Code of Conduct and Best-Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors” published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
IJEA also adheres to the “Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing” jointly published by COPE, the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).
IJEA publishes only original scholarly works in the fields of engineering, automation, robotics, and related technological disciplines. All manuscripts submitted to IJEA are rigorously evaluated via a double-blind peer-review process. Manuscripts should be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere at the time of submission.
Submission
If you are interested in submitting a manuscript to IJEA, please refer to the Author Guidelines for detailed information on manuscript preparation and submission procedures.
Preliminary Evaluation
All submitted manuscripts are initially assessed by the editorial staff. Papers that do not fit the journal’s scope or are judged to be of insufficient general interest or technical quality are rejected without external review. For detailed information on the journal’s scope, please refer to the Aims & Scope section.
Peer Review Process
Manuscripts that pass the preliminary evaluation are sent to at least two external reviewers selected based on their expertise, academic qualifications, and research background. The peer-review process is managed entirely through our online submission system. Reviewers are expected to:
-
Evaluate the scientific and technical quality of the manuscript, focusing on its originality, validity, significance, ethical soundness, presentation quality, and relevance to the field.
-
Provide an overall recommendation for publication.
-
Submit a detailed review report with constructive feedback.
Double-Blind Peer Review
All manuscripts are evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process. This means the identities of the authors and reviewers are kept confidential from each other throughout the review process.
Ethical Guidelines
IJEA follows strict ethical standards to ensure the integrity and quality of published research. Reviewers play a central role in maintaining these standards and are expected to conduct reviews in an ethical and accountable manner. Detailed ethical guidelines for authors, reviewers, and editors are provided in our Publication Ethics policy.
Final Decision
The Editor-in-Chief (or the Guest Editor for a Special Issue) makes the final decision based on the reviewers’ recommendations, choosing from the following options:
-
Accept in present form
-
Accept after minor revisions
-
Reconsider after major revisions
-
Reject
If revisions are required, authors will be asked to resubmit the revised manuscript within a specified timeframe. For major revisions, the revised manuscript will be returned to the reviewers for re-evaluation.
Appeals and Complaints Policy
Appeals
Authors have the right to appeal an editorial decision if they believe it was unfair or incorrect. To initiate an appeal, please submit a formal letter to the editorial office detailing the grounds for the appeal and explaining why the decision is considered unjust.
The Editor-in-Chief will review all relevant documentation, may consult with the handling editor or reviewers, and, if necessary, appoint an independent expert to re-evaluate the submission. The decision of the Editor-in-Chief following this process is final.
Complaints
Complaints regarding the journal’s policies, procedures, or the conduct of editorial staff should be directed via email to the Editor-in-Chief or to the publisher, LETIGES. All formal complaints will be acknowledged promptly and addressed confidentially. We are committed to resolving complaints fairly and as quickly as possible.
