Prepare Your Manuscript: Notes for Authors

Submission System

  • Only registered users can submit manuscripts to IJEA.

  • To submit, you must be registered with the role of "Author."

  • In your user profile, click "New Submission" next to the "Author" section.

Manuscript Format & Structure

  • Length: 10-16 pages, including references (approximately 5500-8000 words).

  • Language: Manuscripts must be written in English.

  • Required Sections: Title, Author Affiliations, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Body, Conclusions, References. Appendices and Acknowledgements are optional.

  • Text Formatting:

    • Title: 14pt font.

    • Main Text & References: 12pt font.

    • Tables/Diagrams: 11pt font.

    • Use Times New Roman font for body text and Arial for headings.

    • Paper Size: A4. Margins: Top & Left: 3 cm; Bottom & Right: 2.5 cm.

    • Line Spacing: Single.

    • Page & Line Numbers: Include for review.

  • Template: Download and use the official IJEA manuscript template to ensure correct and fast formatting.

Abstract & Keywords

  • The abstract must be a single paragraph of 150-250 words.

  • It should concisely state the: Purpose, Methodology, Key Results, and Conclusion of the research.

  • Provide 3-5 keywords that are a mix of generic and specific terms.

Technical Standards

  • Use SI (Système International) units and internationally recognized terminology and symbols.

  • Minimize non-standard abbreviations. Define upon first use if they appear at least four times.

Figures & Tables

  • All graphics must be of high quality and embedded within the manuscript body.

  • Colour figures are accepted.

  • Large figures can span both columns.

  • Ensure figures have scale bars (where applicable) and clear labels. Tables should be clearly formatted.

  • Resolution: Minimum 300 DPI at final print size. Submit in RGB colour mode.

  • Accepted Formats: TIFF (.tif), JPEG (.jpg), EPS (.eps - upon acceptance).

References

  • Use a reference manager (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero, Endnote) with the APA 7th Edition style.

  • All in-text citations must be listed in the References section and vice-versa.

  • Include DOIs or stable URLs where available.

Authorship & Requirements

  • Maximum number of authors: Five (5).

  • ORCID ID: Mandatory for the corresponding author. Fill in the required field during submission.

Language & Style

  • Language Standard: Manuscripts must meet international English language standards for publication.

  • Default Style: British English. If you use American English, please specify on the first page.

  • Language Services: Authors may use recommended language editing services. Note: This does not guarantee acceptance; editorial decisions are based on scientific content.

SEO & Title Guidelines

  • Title: Should be concise, in title case, and state the main finding. Avoid vague terms ("Effect of...", "Towards...") and unnecessary abbreviations.

  • SEO Tips: Include keywords in the title and first sentences of the abstract. Use clear, descriptive headings.

Detailed Section Guidelines

  • Introduction: Establish context, significance, and the specific research gap/novelty. End with clear objectives. Avoid subsections.

  • Method: Describe procedures, materials, and analysis with sufficient detail for replication. Define the population, instrumentation, and statistical methods. Avoid subsections.

  • Results & Discussion: Present findings clearly, then interpret them. Explain how results support conclusions, relate to existing literature, discuss implications and limitations. Combine or separate as appropriate. Avoid over-interpretation.

  • Conclusion: Clearly state the main takeaway and the importance of your work. Do not simply repeat the abstract or introduce new arguments.

Additional Sections

  • Acknowledgements: Optional, for thanking contributors, funders, or institutions.

  • Author Contributions Statement: Required. Use initials to describe each author's tasks (e.g., A.B.: conceptualization, C.D.: methodology). Place before references.

  • Funding Statement: Details of all funding sources and grant numbers must be declared in a dedicated section.

Supplementary Material

  • Large datasets, code, detailed schematics, or multimedia can be uploaded as supplementary files (e.g., PDF, ZIP, AVI, MP4).

  • Ensure supplementary files are clearly captioned and self-explanatory.

  • Withdrawal Policy: Please read the manuscript withdrawal policy.

  • Submission Issues: If you encounter problems (e.g., upload timeout), contact the editorial office.
